On October 18, a delegation of semiconductor faculty from Asia University, led by the President of Asia University, Tsai Jin-Fa, visited Jtron Technology, a renowned semiconductor testing and integration supplier in Taiwan. They discussed cooperation in cultivating talents for semiconductor with Jtron's Chairman Lin Yi-Min and Vice Chairman Wen Tsai-Sheng. With the support of Jtron Technology, Asia University will establish a semiconductor talent cultivation base in central Taiwan. This initiative will not only provide internships for Asia University students but also expand the training of semiconductor talent in the central region, enhancing both parties' academic and technical capabilities in semiconductor talent development.
The Asia University delegation included President Tsai Jin-Fa, Vice President Li Wen-Xi, Industry-Academia Dean Wang Zhao-Neng, Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering Chair Zhang Wen-Zhong, and Deputy Chairs Zhu Xue-Ting and Xiao Jin-Song. Jtron Technology was represented by Chairman Lin Yi-Min, Vice Chairman Wen Tsai-Sheng, CFO Zheng Wen-Ji, and Sales Manager Kao Hua-Yu.
Chairman Lin Yi-Min introduced Jtron Technology's innovative achievements in semiconductors, highlighting the company's V101 system, which provides integrated circuit testing equipment for the industry. Both parties engaged in an in-depth discussion on future cooperation models involving the V101 testing system. This collaboration will not only offer internships for Asia University students but also enhance their understanding and application of advanced technologies, serving as a crucial platform for practical skill development.

President Tsai Jin-Fa emphasized during the meeting that Asia University has been actively promoting industry-academia collaboration in recent years. Given the rapid growth of the semiconductor industry, cultivating high-level talent with practical experience has become one of the university's primary missions. Through this cooperation with Jtron Technology, it is hoped that Asia University students will gain a solid academic foundation and master the most advanced testing technologies in practical operations, becoming key talents in the future semiconductor industry.
Both parties reached a consensus that, with the support of Jtron Technology, Asia University will establish a semiconductor talent cultivation base in central Taiwan. Initially, this base will train semiconductor test engineers and equipment engineers certified by both parties. This initiative will not only benefit Asia University students but also expand to talents in central Taiwan. Additionally, the program aims to attract international semiconductor professionals, focusing on talent retention and development.
To enhance the practical experience of Asia University students, the university has also established diverse off-campus internship programs. Jtron Technology will offer year-long internship opportunities for senior students and encourage graduate students to participate through thesis projects, further enhancing their competitiveness in the job market.
President Tsai stated that this collaboration with Jtron Technology demonstrates Asia University's commitment to semiconductor talent cultivation. He hopes that both parties will work together to create a win-win situation for academia and industry, further advancing Taiwan's leading position in the semiconductor industry.
