2024/10/09 Jtron Technology donates IC testing equipment to Ming Chuan University, collaborating to cultivate AI semiconductor talent.
To strengthen the cultivation of future technology talent, Jtron Technology Co., Ltd. donated a "Semiconductor IC Testing Machine V101" to the Bachelor's Degree Program in Semiconductor Applications at Ming Chuan University. The donation ceremony was held on October 9 at the Taoyuan campus, with Jtron Technology's Chairman Lin Yi-Min, Vice General Manager Wen Tsai-Sheng, Assistant General Manager Zheng Wen-Ji, and Sales Manager Kao Hua-Yu personally attending. The donation was received and appreciated by Ming Chuan University's Main President of Global Education System, Li Quan and President Li Xuan-Shi, representing the university. This collaboration between industry and academia aims to benefit students and jointly cultivate AI semiconductor talent with integrated academic and practical skills.
In their speeches, President Li Quan and President Li Xuan-Shi of Ming Chuan University emphasized that Taiwan holds a leading position globally in the semiconductor industry chain, including design, manufacturing, packaging, and testing, earning the title of "Silicon Shield." Recognizing the future development of the semiconductor industry, Ming Chuan University officially established the "Bachelor's Degree Program in Semiconductor Applications" in the 113th academic year, dedicated to cultivating students with professional knowledge and skills in the semiconductor field, and emphasizing the integration of practical and theoretical learning. The donation of semiconductor IC testing equipment by Jtron Technology will play a significant role in enhancing the equipment of Ming Chuan's semiconductor laboratory and advancing academic research. Chairman Lin Yi-Min and Vice General Manager Wen Tsai-Sheng of Jtron Technology also expressed in their speeches that, on the occasion of Jtron Technology's 20th anniversary, they deeply feel that the biggest challenge facing Taiwan's semiconductor industry is the shortage of talent, especially packaging and testing engineers. The donated Semiconductor IC Testing Machine V101 is a multifunctional testing platform that can be used at various stages from laboratory to mass production. They hope that this donation will lead to more industry-academia cooperation, corporate internships, and interactive exchanges with Ming Chuan University, jointly cultivating future AI semiconductor talent and bring contribution to Taiwan's semiconductor industry.
Qiu Fu-Qian, Director of the Bachelor's Degree Program in Semiconductor Applications at Ming Chuan University, stated that in the context of the rapid evolution of global AI technology, especially with innovative applications represented by large language models (LLMs), the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of AI semiconductors is expected to exceed 20% in the coming years, which is four to five times that of the traditional semiconductor market. The generous donation of the Semiconductor IC Testing Machine V101 by Jtron Technology provides unlimited development opportunities for Ming Chuan students and will become a key resource for further cultivation of AI semiconductor talent.
